High latency tcp connections
Jim D. Various workarounds are suggested, including setting a higher default sendbuffer size through an undocumented registry parameter and enabling a dynamic mode for the sendbuffer with another registry param. Featured on Meta. This seems like the latency you would get going from one side of US to the other. Can you connect to the switch and check for issues? B2 is a bit peculiar, especially for non-US users: the latency from Europe to B2's servers is very high, at least ms from "HTTP headers sent" to "HTTP response header received", so the per-file overhead is very high. Video: High latency tcp connections What is latency? What affects latency?
We have a sql server which shows high latency values (72 ms, ms) in resource manager for connections made to it by other servers. Hi, Wonder if anyone can help with a problem I'm seeing on one of our SAP servers running Windows and SQLwe are seeing high.
You mentioned you were seeing the high latency when you connected My server has plenty of power and is a gigabit connection as is my entire network.
Seems like the problem lies outside of Windows.
In the same VLAN? A click on a table header sorts the data accordingly, so that you can easily sort it by highest or lowest average, or by destination address.

Is this your own DNS? You can also subscribe without commenting. DNS timeouts are irrelevant, we're testing with IP addresses. Is this on the roadmap?
Latency value high for tcp connection in Resource monitor
Formula to calculate optimal TCP window size (source). Bandwidth-in-bits-per- second * Round-trip-latency-in-seconds = TCP window size in.
I just increased my throughput fivefold Do you know how TCP Connections works out the latency so I can try to replicate the same results elsewhere? I studied part of Libevent's header files and ducumentations, tried to setup a rate limit to all connections. Question feed.

Until you get a reply, it can end at or something If the devices and switches are lightly loaded I would be concerned that someone was using an ARP hijack to insert themselves in the traffic flow as a man-in-the-middle Sure, we can increase the send buffer size for the B2 backend, ideally so that most files will just fit into the buffer.
Things aren't adding up. How can I speed up my Windows 7 tcp file transfers over a mbps link between Chicago and London? |
capture of an attempt to open a connection to host that is not responding: So you can see that you can get some serious latency in the face of one possible explanation is that TCP is waiting to retransmit lost packets.

Maybe Wireshark's window scaling graph is not the same as the window size, I don't know, but Googling told me that that was where I'd find the TCP window size. I notice, too, that when I drag-and-drop a file on a London machine from my Chicago fileserver, it seems to transfer at quite a nice clip as shown by looking at the details during the transfer but after a few minutes it drops off the cliff into the 10's of Kbps.

The usual suspects: Duplex mismatch check on switch for collisions or errors check on hosts for collisions or errors If you see collisions, that end is half duplex and should be set to full. What happens when you ping with large packets, do you see the same latency or not?

If you see errors, check the other end for collisions.

Actual behavior restic scans my folder and uploads data to b2 at about 1. I want to modify TCP so it can handle that situation better possibly at the expense of my speeds within Chicago but I'll deal with that if necessary.
